Jerry Folsom
President and CEO
Jerry brings to Allen Technologies a passion for the customer experience and a background of leadership to launch new products and deliver technology services. In addition, Jerry has had extensive first-hand experience with hospitals over the last eight years and fully understands the value that easy access to medical information, educational content and entertainment brings to improve patient outcomes. Prior to joining Allen Technologies, Jerry held roles with solutions and consulting companies including Deloitte Consulting, Site Controls (now Siemens), ClearOrbit (now TAKE Solutions) and SunGard. Jerry holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University and an MBA from The University of Texas at Austin..
Tom Sloss
Chief Financial Officer
Tom Sloss brings more than 22 years of finance and accounting experience to his Chief Financial Officer role at Allen Technologies. Prior to joining Allen Technologies, Tom most recently served as Vice President of Finance & Administration at Cesura and prior to Cesura Tom served as Vice President of Finance & Administration at Surgient, Inc. Tom previously held a number of finance management roles at market-leading food services corporations, including Schlotzsky's and Burger King. Tom also worked in the audit and tax departments of Arthur Andersen for five years. He holds a B.S. in Accounting from Auburn University and an M.B.A. in Finance and International Business from the Anderson School at U.C.L.A.
Robert Jensen
Vice President, Operations and Client Relations
Robert Jensen serves ATI as the Vice President of Operations and Client Relations. Robert's roles include oversight and management of ATI operations, client installations, and contracts with a focus on helping clients to best utilize their systems and applications. Robert joined Allen Technologies in 1994 to serve as Account/Operations manager for the Southern California region. Prior to joining Allen Technologies, Robert managed maintenance teams responsible for computer and satellite communications systems in the United States Navy and went on to serve in Account and Installations management for Spectradyne, a hospitality-focused on-demand company which was acquired by EDS. Robert holds over 16 years of Interactive Systems experience, earned the equivalent of an Associate’s degree in electronics from the U.S. Navy (graduating with honors), is certified by the National Cable TV Institute, has completed Dale Carnegie training in Sales and Customer Service.
Derek Forman
Founder
Derek Forman has focused on the development and delivery of health information and entertainment to patients since 1971 when he began working for American Hospital Supply, which has since been acquired by Baxter Healthcare. In 1977, Derek founded Allen Technologies, Inc. (ATI), and in 1981 expanded its operations by founding a sister company in Sydney, Australia called Hospital Communications Australia, Pty. Ltd (HCA). In 1986 ATI and HCA were sold to Grace Brothers Australia and became public on the Sydney stock exchange at which time Derek was appointed Chairman of the Board and CEO. In 1989 Derek re-acquired ownership of ATI from Grace Brothers Australia. Since re-acquiring ATI he and the ATI team have focused on the vision of using interactive technology at the patient bedside to "Enhance the Patient Journey to Better Health."
Satwinder Kahlon
Director of Development
Satwinder Kahlon brings wide-ranging engineering/development industry experience spanning over 27 years to his Director of Development role at Allen Technologies. Prior to joining Allen Technologies, Satwinder helped Incisent Technologies start its Austin office and built up the engineering team in Austin. Preceding Incisent, he was the Director of Software Development at Genband, where he helped establish a team in India, supervised the transfer of the product to China, and led a global team of architects for integration of acquired software products. Before Genband, Satwinder was a Principal Engineer and founding technical team lead of the Systems Management team at Surgient Networks. Satwinder spent the first 16 years of his technical career at IBM where he worked on different technologies including multiple operating systems, video server, and WebSphere. Satwinder is a veteran of the US Army where he served for 4 years in areas of biotechnology and computer application development. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, an M.S. in Computer Science from SUNY Binghamton and an M.S. in Genetics from PAU Ludhiana, India.
