interfere with the nurse call system in any way. Nurse call button presses are sent over a
different set of wires than those used for controlling a television. When a nurse and a
patient are communicating, the pillow speaker automatically disables the sound from
the TV. From Vigo's point-of-view, a pillow speaker operates much like a state-of-the-art
TV remote control.
Vigo supports a wide-variety of television control protocols, including CCI, MPI and
RS-232-C. By partnering with these pillow speaker vendors, Vigo is able to support a wide
range of television vendors and a variety of different TV models.
Vigo OneTouch units are controlled via a touch screen, so a pillow speaker is not required
to control the TV.
